Community overview

Life in Los Reyes Canyons

Los Reyes Canyons is a gated community of custom homes in the City of Helotes, on San Antonio's northwest edge. According to its HOA, the community covers about 382 acres with 209 custom homesites of one to five acres, bordered by Government Canyon State Natural Area to the west and Bandera Road (Highway 16) to the east.

The first homes went up in 1997, and the community grew in phases, finishing with a final phase called Revello. The original developers put utilities underground and laid out winding streets to protect the land's natural character, so the setting is defined by hilltop views, dense woods, and plenty of wildlife rather than rooftops. A bridge near the entrance, dating to 1968, adds a touch of local history.

Every home is custom built, and Weston Dean Custom Homes is among the builders working here. A Master Design Committee reviews site and landscape plans before construction begins, which helps keep the community's look consistent. Los Reyes Canyons was also the first community in Helotes to be recognized as a Firewise USA community, in 2015.

The HOA doesn't list shared amenities like a pool or clubhouse. Instead, the appeal is space, privacy, and nature, with Government Canyon's trails next door. Old Town Helotes is close by, and Bandera Road and Loop 1604 lead to La Cantera, The Rim, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, UTSA, and the Medical Center.

Dollars per $100 taxable value. The 2026 county report lists these seven entities and no ESD, MUD/WCID, groundwater, or other special district for this parcel; verify a specific parcel before purchase. Northside ISD has a November 3, 2026 voter-approval tax-rate election pending. This is a representative-address result, not a universal rate for every home marketed as Los Reyes Canyons. Exemptions and future assessments affect a buyer's bill.

Tax information checked October 22, 2026. The tax year shown is the latest verified year for that rate, not necessarily the current year.

A mailing address does not establish city limits or taxing districts. The exact bill depends on the parcel, each entity's taxable value, exemptions and appraisal limits. Special districts or assessments may apply. Verify the full taxing-entity list and current adopted rates for the specific home; figures shown are not a tax quote.
